Modeling Ecosystem Service Tradeoffs – Dr. Lisa Wainger

Dr. Lisa Wainger is a research professor of geographic environmental economics at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. Her primary research interest is in developing integrated ecological and economic analysis tools to communicate changes in ecological conditions in terms of socio-economic impacts.

She will discuss recent work, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to inform environmental policy choices by developing analysis tools that reveal tradeoffs among ecosystem services. She will elaborate on some of the policy-relevant lessons learned as a result of that modeling and through her role an economics advisor to the EPA Ecosystem Services Research Program. She has requested that people review the below document to familiarize yourself with the subject of our seminar.
