Dr. Nelson, professor of public policy, will provide background on the US energy
system and the role natural gas, especially shale gas such as Marcellus, plays in
our energy future. The discussion will continue to climate change impacts and
the implications an increase in shale gas has for forecasts. For more information
on Marcellus shale gas development, see the report from last year's
Environmental Policy Workshop, taught by Dr. Nelson, entitled Marcellus Shale
Gas Development: Reconciling Shale Gas Development with Environmental
Protection, Landowner Rights, and Community Needs.
We look forward to seeing you at our discussion.
