International Education Week Event:
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows program at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism presents a brown bag panel discussion by four members of this year's class of visiting international journalists, discussing the obstacles (and perils) they have faced in finding, documenting and publishing stories about corruption in their respective home countries. Angur Monty of Bangladesh is the deputy chief reporter and diplomatic correspondent for the Bangla national daily newspaper *Bhorer Kagoj*. She also covers women’s issues, human rights, development and cultural issues. Nadeem Shah of Pakistan serves as the bureau chief of The News International of Jang Group and station head for Aaj News in Multan. He specializes in reporting on terrorism and has uncovered many corruption scandals. Rinzin Wangchuk of Bhutan is an editor for Bhutan’s leading newspaper, *Kuensel,* as well as an investigative reporter covering crime and corruption. He served as the general secretary for the local chapter of the South Asian Free Media Association. Tasawar-ul-Karim Baig of Pakistan is a senior producer for Geo Television Network and Express News Television Network where he works on talk shows, docudramas, telethons and campaigns. He worked on a television campaign to repeal the restrictive Hudood ordinance on punishments for adultery as a political tool against opponents. Lucinda Fleeson, Director of the Humphrey Fellows Program, will serve as moderator.
